So, what is Powder Coating?

You are probably familiar with paint. It is made of pigments, resins, solvents and a few other components and comes in liquid form. You can spray or brush it on to your project.

Powder coat is made of pigments and resins ground into a very fine powder. The powder comes in many different colors, types, textures and other characteristics. The powder is charged and sprayed onto a grounded metal part. The part is then baked in an oven until the powder melts and flows together and cures to form a very durable and attractive coating. Once the powder is cured it looks just like paint but is much more durable.

Powder coated items are very resistant to chipping, scratches and fading. Powder coating is also environmentally friendly since it releases very little VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds).

If it is metal, it can be powder coated. You can powder car parts, motorcycle frames, patio furniture, metal beds, pedal toy parts, bicycles and just about anything else that comes to mind. There are limitless applications in residential, commercial and industrial settings.

There are many colors to choose from. All RAL colors are available along with many specialty colors. There are also several topcoats from clear to candies in several different colors. Along with the variety of colors there are different textures and veins to choose from as well. We also have metallics in various colors. We have colors for Polaris, Can-Am and others and can even match college and Pro team colors.

Although powder coat is very strong by itself, there are powder coat primers that can increase impact resistance. If you have an application where you would like the additional protection, we can apply a primer prior to the final finish. 

Media Blasting

Here at Exacta Powder Coating, we can media blast (sand blast) your parts. Our blast cabinet can hold parts up to 47” W X 34” D X 35” H. We can handle widths up to an additional 32” although the other dimensions will decrease somewhat. If you need rust, paint, mill scale or just general crud removed from you parts we can do it. We can blast your running boards, rusted pulleys or any other part that has seen better times.

Welding and metal fabrication

Exacta Powder Coating can help you with repair or fabrication of your metal parts. We can repair failed welds or weld new. With our Mill and Lathe, we can make or repair many parts.
